22 Jun Life’s a Beach
Hi, friends! Is this thing still on?
I’m back after an unintended hiatus! There’s really no reason for my radio silence… but it feels good to be back! I’m refocusing on scheduling myself some time each week to cook and write, so hopefully you’ll be hearing from me much more consistently from now on. Life just got busy for awhile, but this SAHM definitely needs a productive/creative outlet to stay sane!
We spent our first-ever Father’s Day at the beach this past weekend. What a tremendous blessing to take our sweet island babe back to the ocean and make some amazing memories together! My heart is absolutely overflowing after seeing Ellie and Robert play together in the sand, the waves, and the pool. She definitely has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger!
I think most people assume that infertility doesn’t affect men as much emotionally as it does women, but I know Robert felt that pain deeply during our three years of struggle. This man was BUILT for fatherhood. So what a privilege to hear them call our names for our celebration dinner on Sunday: Michael, party of three. FAMILY OF THREE. And to know that he was hand-picked to be Ellie’s dad… Well, it’s almost too much to take in.
My cup runneth over.
See you back in the kitchen soon, friends. And Happy (belated) Father’s Day.
